That’s the news we’ve gotten from Davido’s camp just moments ago. Davido will be releasing his first project under SONY BMG in just over a month. Could it be a finalized version of his sophomore album, Baddest.
An excited Davido shared the news on snapchat and is quoted as saying “Happiest day of my life, finally got my date of release. September about to be a movie, best music and videos I ever made in my life. I’m happy I waited. Boutta turn up.”
Davido signed a deal with Sony BMG said to be worth a million dollars in January, but hasn’t put out much material since then. Word broke a few months ago that he was growing frustrated with the lack of movement in the album release, but that has since cooled.
Most recently, he’s teamed up with Tinashe on a soon to be released single, How Long. The video has been shot, and shows the two artists getting very cozy with one another. The album could also potentially feature the likes of Young Thug, Trey Songz, and Meek Mill.
We understand that Sony Music will be handling all the publishing and distribution for Davido.
